Arts and Events in the Gascoyne
Country Arts WA acknowledges the Aboriginal people of the Gascoyne as the traditional custodians. We are thankful to be on this country and acknowledge the Elders past, present and emerging. We respect and celebrate the continuing contribution of Aboriginal Australians to culture and the arts.
The Gascoyne covers around 138,000 square kilometres of WA’s north west and covers more than 600km of Indian Ocean coastline – including the famous Ningaloo Reef. Stretching 500km inland, the tropical region is home to roughly 10,000 people, with more than half living in the regional hub of Carnarvon.
When one festival just isn’t enough, there’s always Gascoyne in May! Showcasing the incredible diversity of arts in the region, this collection of festivals across the beautiful coral coast and inland all the way to Burringarrah will give you the festival fix you’re looking for.
An annual community celebration of film, music, comedy and the arts on the Ningaloo coast that is highlighted by the Ningalens Film Competition. Head over to Exmouth to experience art that celebrates the beauty of WA’s natural environment.
